Infant Boy Johnston was born on April 2, 1931, in Seabeck, Washington, to James Loyal Johnston and Gertrude Sage. His birth came during a period when several branches of the Johnston family were living and working in the Seabeck and Camp Union area, drawn there by employment opportunities and family connections.

Tragically, Infant Boy Johnston lived only seven days. He died on April 9, 1931, from a seizure disorder, a condition that at the time offered few diagnostic tools or effective treatments, particularly in newborns. His brief life unfolded against the backdrop of an era when infant mortality remained common, even among families closely supported by relatives.

He was laid to rest in Seabeck Cemetery, joining other Johnston children who died in early childhood during the same period.
